 I write, it's what I do. In the past three years I've written in excess of 400,000 words. That’s around five novels! As a result, I can help with your writing needs.

I have simple beliefs about writing:

  • Write only what needs to be said. I prefer to avoid redundant words and ‘business speak’, which is mostly padding.

We can say … It is important to assess the competence levels of the team in order to ascertain the standards that are required.

Or ... Assess the competence levels of your team to understand required standards.  

A bulky 20 words or eleven direct, succinct words? I don’t know too many audiences who want to read almost 50% more, if they don’t have to.

  • Consistency matters – what is your organisational/personal style? Is it used in every document you write? If you don’t have a plan for this, chances are documents are sent out with inconsistencies. I can help you develop a style guide to improve consistency and improve professionalism.
  • Appearance – my graphic design skills help me create content for you which ‘looks right’, no more clip art or tricks, which can undermine your documents effectiveness and brand.
  • Accessibility, I understand the needs of readers who are sight impaired, and use screen readers. Simple methods can make your content more accessible to a range of users.

Learning and development - Scenario development is a specialty of mine and a passion. It's ideal for training and presenting facts in a story telling way. Learning is improved by our relationship to the story. We can ask a straight theory question with little value to a learner/reader, but can also ask a theory question as it relates to a scenario. This models the real world and how we need to operate within in it.

My varied work experience has exposed me to many industries, meaning I have been exposed to areas which broaden my understanding. For the past three years I have been writing content for training in the curriculum areas of:

  • Business
  • Administration
  • Leadership and management
  • Project management
  • Environmental sustainability
  • Hospitality
  • Legal studies.

Note, this does not make me a subject matter expert (SME) in each of these areas. It does mean I am able to work with SMEs and create content based on their experience and knowledge.

I write my own material and can write to a topic to suit you.

I am happy to work with websites, government, advertising agencies and charge an hourly rate, or price per piece.  A general indication of my fees is included below:

Per day = $878.00

Per half day = $585.00 (2/3 day rate)

Per hour = $185.00

Cancellation fee - If there is a late cancellation of a commissioned piece, a cancellation fee will apply.
