Nasturtium growing beside the wooden sleeper garden edge, in the stones.

This painting was part of the 100-day project. Every day for 100 days I posted a painting and, in most cases a story inspired by the painting.

Watercolour painting on 300 gms art quality paper.

Here is the story of this painting.

Every season they come up, not in the garden but often beside it, in the stones which border the path. Why, when there is a perfectly lovely dirty bed merely centimetres away from their eventual home? I like to think they leave the dirty bed for the other plants who cannot manage in the stones, away from the goodness of the compost.

They show true courage, taking what they need and making their home where they can.
